Career Compass Program will show you how.

Learn more about yourself, develop interpersonal skills and understand how
to make smart career decisions. The Ernst & Young Career Compass Program
will give you the direction you’re looking for.

Through the structured learning sessions and workshops included in this
unique program you’ll understand more about us and gain the skills that
will help you grow from student to professional. You’ll be equipped to make
informed choices about electives and majors for the rest of your degree,
regardless of whether you are undertaking an accounting degree or studying
another field.

Introduced to the Ernst & Young culture, you’ll be invited to network with
peers and experienced professionals and share your ideas and aspirations
for the future. Demonstrate that you’re a high achiever and you could be
invited to interview for our Vacationer Program.

Our Career Compass Program will be held over 3 days from 26 – 28 September
2012.

We’re looking for…
Students from a range of disciplines including accounting, commerce, law,
engineering, science, IT/IS, actuarial studies, economics, and human
resources who

·    are keen to kick-start their career before graduation and learn as
much as they can about professional services

·    have a range of interests outside study and are focused on achieving
their potential

Eligibility
To apply for our Career Compass Program, students are required to be:

·    An Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent
resident

·    Available for all three full days of the program (26 – 28 September
2012)

·    Apply in your first, second or third year of your degree if you are
on track to graduate in mid or late 2014

Tax Vacationer Program:
Kick start your graduate opportunities and beat your peers to the post.
Become an Ernst & Young Vacationer and get ahead, before you’ve completed
your degree.

As a vacationer, we’ll provide you with client work, skills development,
training and professional experiences. Not only do you learn about our
organisation, you get to apply that knowledge. Show us what you’re capable
of and you may be invited to join us after graduation in a full-time
position.

Our Melbourne Tax Vacationer Program will be held during summer 2012-13.

We’re looking for…
·    Students in accounting, business, commerce, economics, engineering,
finance, IT/IS, law or science for Tax.

To be successful in the application process, you’ll need to be highly
motivated with a genuine interest in working with clients to handle complex
issues and resolve challenges. You’re team focused with strong analytical
skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work
with clients as soon as you start so you’ll also need to be a confident
communicator and passionate about client service excellence.

Deakin University and the Deakin Commerce Society are pleased to announce we have agreed to a strategic alliance with Quinlan Consulting Team.

Quinlan Consulting Team run a Mentor Programme that includes training and voluntary Accounting / Finance work experience. During 2012 the Managing Director will be presenting a 1-2 hour presentation that will be free for Deakin Commerce Society club members.
